Westmont, Illinois attorney John R. Hubeny was born in Chicago and spent his childhood being raised on Chicago’s west side and in Elmhurst. He graduated from Quigley on Chestnut and Rush in Chicago in 1965 and received both a Bachelor of Science in Commerce (1969) and a Masters in Business Administration cum laude (1972) from DePaul University in Chicago. Mr. Hubeny worked for Motorola, was in business with his 2 brothers with a nationwide high-rise window cleaning company, and was a professor at Illinois Benedictine College (now Benedictine University) before attending law School. He graduated from The John Marshall Law School in Chicago with distinction in 1982.
Mr. Hubeny is licensed to practice law in Illinois by the Illinois Supreme Court as well as being licensed to practice before federal courts including the District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the United States Tax Court, and the United States Supreme Court. He is also a certified court annexed arbitrator for the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit, DuPage County, Illinois. Mr. Hubeny continued to be an adjunct professor at Benedictine University and at DePaul University after completing law school.

Mr. Hubeny enjoys traveling, dining, and going to the opera and theater with his wife of 50 years, Cathy. There are 7 Hubeny children and 18 grandchildren who are also at the center of Mr. and Mrs. Hubeny’s lives, enjoying cruises, ski vacations, and their lake house in Wisconsin — not to mention family gatherings at Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, birthdays and anniversaries.
